Default Drag setup on the street?

How many of you run your drag setup on the street and how does it handle? I love the look of a nice drag setup but am not sure about how it handles and how the tires handle in the rain.

Let me know what you have and how it handles. Post some pics.

I had the Billet Specialties and now have Weld RTS's and they both handle great. Just make sure you get some radials and you will be fine in the rain...just use common sense when driving and you wont have any problems.

What sizes do you have? My car is 99% street but I really like the drag setup look. I am just not sure if thats what I should go far if its going to handle bad.

i would never drive in the rain with my slicks and skinnies on. but as far as normal street driving it is fine. just dont except it to handle the curves as well.

If you want to run a drag setup, just make sure you get readials and don't drive like a moron and you will be fine.

You can't safely drive a drag setup on the street. There's just too many variables that could go wrong. There are several companies who make street/strip wheels however (Weld Racings RTS wheels, Bogarts street wheels, ect) which can be driven on the street. It's a completely different ride though. You have to learn to turn at 3mph, and brake much sooner. I would never get caught in the rain on big and littles, especially with a bias ply tire or drag radial. Without a proportioning valve, your front brakes will lock up much easier due to the small size, and this is on dry pavement. I can't imagine having to make a quick stop in the rain. Spend the 1,000 dollars you want to spend on a drag wheel setup on a beater to drive daily, then start saving for a track setup. Just my .02

Yeah be VERY EASY on the brakes and dont brake too hard if you end up running them. Ive went sliding before and it was not cool.

I drive around on them all the time...never had any issues with either setup. I dont take turns real fast and dont drive in the rain since its not my DD.

15x4 fronts and 15x10 rears

Front tires are Mickey Thompson S/R's and Mickey Thompson ET Streets 275/60-15

Get diffrent wheels for the look and weight, But I think you can get some good 60's on the stock wheels and DR like what I ran.

How would 17x7 fronts and 15x10 rears handle on the street? Is anyone running something similar to this set up?
