Why don't rear seat speakers work with aftermarket head unit?
Just kind of curious why exactly the speakers adjacent to the rear seats don't work with an aftermarket head unti installed. Just put a Panasonic CQ-DFX983u in my SS last night and now only have the front and hatch speakers working. Not all that concerned, in the market for some Focals, plus have a Solobaric S10D to throw in the back. Just wondering why, would assume maybe it has to do with the extra wiring harness you unplug from the stock stereo, but don't plug into an aftermarket one?

I was always told that two two speakers were actually subs and just about every aftermarket radio had a 4 chan output.
In other works, peeps told me to get an amp and connect the two middle subs directly to the amp and the other 4 regular speakers would work off of the radio itself. I'm not a stero guy, I am confusing myself here.

If your subs arent working you either have the bass turned way down or the radio isnt hooked up correctly... You NEED to use the aftermarket harness to hook it up, if youve hooked it up otherwise or the shop you brought it to hooked it up otherwise the amp wont work.
Joe youre right about aftermarket radios being 4 channel however, the 4 channels run to the amp which is 6 channels. Theres no reason to seperately power the subs.

i have an aftermarket head unit and all 6 speakers work fine, however i also have 2 10in subs in the back so i would like to if possible, have the 6.5 speakers in the sail panal be full range instead of just having the lows go to them. what is the easiest way to accomplish this?
