Default I am buying a 2002 camaro z28 with a bad TRANNY?

I am buying this z28 that is "driveable" but the tranny keeps slipping. It is automatic camaro with only 69k miles. He is said he will take $3750 for it. How much is it to fix it and put a working tranny in it if it needs one? How much will I be in it after fixing it??

You could get a junk yard trans for $150, usually they have a 30 day guarantee. Stock replacement from a parts store is about $600
Built up will be about $2000 -$3000 for something that can handle 400-500 hp Check out Finish Line, they do very good work and are competitively priced.

It isn't too bad of a job. I can do one by myself with jackstands in my garage in about 8 hours start to finish. If it is you first one figure one weekend to finish. Don't forget to flush out the radiator cooler lines.

Are you mechanical? Have you ever worked on a 4l60e or torn one down? With some practice and a few special parts you could rebuilt it on your own. If you think you could do it get a atsg 4l60e repair manual and give it a go.

I beleive you can send your tranny broke tranny to flt as long as the case and all is in good condition and they will sale you a built level 3 for uner 2k. Im pretty sure that is what I seen on there sight. If my trans goes. I am going to try building it myself with all the best parts. And if I don't do it good than I will send it off to FLT
