Default ls6 or weiand john lingenfelter

i have the weiand on my car as of now but have heard the ls6 flows much better along stays much cooler, any body have any info on this, i have thunder racing cam and supporting mods , hooker headers, full exhaust, custom tune, granetelli plug wires, forged bottom end, just for a lil info if it helps

i have input... keep what you have... i have a book that shows the engine dynos for the two... the weiland and the ls6 put out exactly the same in the controlled conditions. as far as heat soak, and heat transfer, its not a big deal, and if you do a nitrous set up, less worries if it back fires. plus im sure you can port yours and do an 85mm tb as well, as the aluminuim intakes can opened up as well. keep what you have

the gains from the engine dyno from the motor were as follows (all the tests were done with crate 5.7 LS1 with COMP Xtreme ENERGY XR275HR cam, a 80mm accufab throttle body, Hooker headers and collector extentions)

LS1 intake 462 hp @6000 440tq @4900 base line
LS6 intake 474 hp @6100 449tq @4900 peak to peak difference 15hp 13tq
Weiand 477 hp @6000 447tq @4900 peak to peak difference 15hp 14tq


others if you wanted to know

FAST 78mm 482hp @6100 451tq @4800 p2p 20hp/18tq
BBK 85mm 489hp @6400 450tq @5100 p2p 27hp/22tq (keep in mind they probably designed it for there matching 85mm tb)


according to the DYNO-PROVEN GM LS1 thru LS7 book.




hope this helps. personally, id port the mouth of yours and toss on a port matched throttle body my .02
