How is it that the gmpp engine controller works without the vss signal or am I not reading the fine print.I asked at the dealership and they don't know if it needs it or not. I am talking about with a manual trans. If vss is not needed how do they get around problems associated with using a stock system with out vss? Anyone using the gmpp controller with a manual trans?

I run stock ECUs with no VSS all the time, it isn't a problem to get around.

The GMPP tunes are compiled with options set to not let lack of VSS signal get in the way. i.e. if VSS = 0 then for example engine rpm high with closed throttle on a downhill may set a DTC. And things like decel fuel cutoff.

GMPP controllers only run manual trans's.
