Default What fuel pump/pumps for 700+ on E85 forced induction...

Ive had people say dual Walbro 255s are good enough but the flow numbers on some of the sheets Ive seen say otherwise. Ive been thinking about dual Bosche 044s since they easily flow more at higher pressure.

Long story short... Im trying to stay slightly budget concious and dont want to buy a $600+ single external fuel pump if two less expensive pumps will do the job well.

Thoughts?

A single large intank would be ideal but the twin Bosch should do the trick.

Which single large in tank pump? I think the setup would be cleaner if I could use two in tank pumps but I just dont think that twin 255s will do it.

I was looking at some of the modified pumps here:

I believe Aeromotive has a large single kit for the vette guys but unfortunately not for f-bodies.

Dual walbros (lonnies performance double pumper in tank) with a single KB BAP on both at 10% which basically holds the voltage at 14V while in boost.

You should check out our DW301.

We have a local Corvette (C5) that put down 900whp on E85 with a pair of our DW301s in tank.

We have seen well over 700rwhp on E85 with our stage 3kit so of done properly the dual walbros will work fine. Feel free to give me a call I can help you spec it properly.

how much power do you think one of those intank pumps could support on pump?
will it work in an fbody?

Really going to depend on the chassis, engine, fuel, injectors size, fuel system pressure, voltage at the pump, etc.

We've seen anywhere between 550-650whp on E85, boosted engines using just one DW301, most of those chassis using the OE fuel lines.

Running N/A and pump gas, those number are going to be higher. Though, most of the builds that have been pushing our pump have been doing so on boosted engines running E85.

The graph at the bottom should give you an idea of what the pump will flow volume-wise and give you an idea of what kind of power it will support at the crank on pump gas.
