newbie gearing help ok so i have a 99 z28 6 speed and i was talking with a buddy of mine tonight about gearing and was wondering what the best gearing would be to get for mostly street as its my dd but make my 1/4 times a little better and would any one know what my stock gears are? thanks guys

Your stock gears are 3.42s. Most of the M6 guys that do a gear swap go to a 4.10, this is a very streetable gear with an M6 trans.

Im an M6 guy and I do a lot of freeway driving, I'm stock at 3.42 but I was thinking 3.73 or maybe 4.10's since I don't hit the strip often enough to make it worth it, and at what gear are you talking about at 70? I'm going to assume 6th...

Ok i had to double check today what rpm I was running at in 6th at 70 and I was at. 1400 so the 3.73's would be much of a jump and does anyone know what rpm I would be at at 70 with the 4.10's. Thank you
