Belt drive fuel pump question: I've searched with no solid real world answers
One of the big concerns that I would have about running one of these pumps off the front of the motor is having the fuel cell in the back of the car. I'm not interested in running a 3 gallon front cell.
I've heard these pumps do not suck very well and that it could also cause some starting issues if the car was sitting for a while. Then there is the whole 60' issue and the pump being able to overcome the g-forces pushing fuel back to the tank.
Is this really a problem, or what?
If it is really a problem, could you run a pump in the back to feed it? Or would that pump actually create a restriction when running WOT?
Say I wanted to run methanol, EFI, FI at around 1500 rwhp. Had a cell in the back with a magnafuel 4303 pump feeding the belt pump up front. How well would that work?
