I have been @ Ramstein for 3 weeks now and have seen a couple nice F-body's, a few C5/6 Vette's 1 C5 ZO6 & 1 C6 ZO6. A couple Goat's & about 2546+954545 Mustang's. Who would be intrested in a Meet & Eat on a Saturday or Sunday?

I know this post is really old but I'm trying to get insight on ramstein since ill be there next year and I bought a 98 ws6 to come with me ....what I'm trying to figure out is, will it pass the t.u.v inspection if it has LT headers with no cats

08-15-2013, 01:29 PM
Yes it will I have heads/cam and no cats and still pass. FYI check

08-15-2013, 11:40 PM
I would suggest bringing a stock catback, mine failed for being to loud. 95 DB is the limit.

08-21-2013, 10:28 AM
Mine wasn't sound tested here in Bamberg but failed for emergency brake cable. They did ask me "are those the catalytics???" and I said yes. I put a catted Y on my 99 before coming over as a precaution. I smell better for it now too!

09-05-2013, 04:10 PM
Im headed to Stuttgart, hope they dont test for sound there eithet

I'll be running my 97 through annual inspection here shortly. Will post up on what they tested for.

I ran my 98 with no cats through, i just did not recieve an emissions sticker. No big deal as i am stationed in Illisheim no tickets so far. I did get pulled over cause the German Police said it was too loud for Germany just as a Audi R8 rolled by with bassani exhaust lol..........

No ticket though

Good luck with the 97, I had to order new NT05s because my original set had 2K miles and were "at the wear bars". It's like a drag radial, its made like this. Inspector replied "No, no they're beyond worn" The Goat also failed the DB test @ 96 lol, 1 over the limit. Added some steel wool in the catless mids and down to 88 DBs for a pass.

This is mine trying to be fast..

Sounds good!

Thanks man, I can't wait to move back to the states so I can rebuild the old LS2.

10-24-2013, 04:16 PM
What are you wanting to do to it? Just a rebuild? Looks fast now as it is....

Yeah just a rebuild with forged pistons & rods. My goat has been sprayed for years, and boosted for the last 3 years. Its still alive some how after all these years. Once its forged I am going to pulley it down & spray a small shot. After that I am done with modding.

I'm not in Germany but just passed APK in the NLD. I'd love to get together with any English speaking cars nuts. The area here has almost no modified cars. I get CRAZY looks all the time in my RX.
