Default Pics: Harlan Shift Light + Rumbler Tips

Here are some pics I took yesterday of my car... they show my Harlan shift light installed in my air vent, and my new Ractive smoked exhaust tips that came with my Rumbler catback, which I installed on Saturday along with my Pacesetters and ORY.

It's a Harlan Shift Light... if you search for "Harlan Shift Light" on Yahoo you should find it. Sometimes people wait a long time for him to ship one out (he's a one-man operation) but I ordered mine and got it the very next week.

It is VERY bright, both in the day and at night. I practiced rowing through the gears using the shift light instead of the tach to time my shifts, and it worked beautifully. Never once had to take my eyes off the road to look down or anything... just waited for the red flash in the corner of my eye.

Rumbler sounds great with the LTs and ORY! I was afraid of getting some rasp, but I will tell you, if there's any rasp I certainly can't tell... it just sounds clean and mean.

My old setup was stock manifolds and cats through an open cutout... and that was rasp city. Now with this new setup, it's a lot louder, but it sounds much more clean... doesn't sound broken like it did through the open cutout.

It is much louder on WOT too... WAY louder than my open cutout with stock manifolds. It's even louder at idle... in fact, me and a friend of mine from these boards (WAHUSKER) were comparing our exhausts side by side. He has PPC headers through random tech high flow cats and a Corsa catback, and you couldn't even hear his idling next to mine.

I've already gotten compliments from people on the street on the way it sounds too... I definitely recommend this setup!

Default Problem with Harlan shift light!?!?!?

it stopped working in the MIDDLE of a pass sunday which caused me to miss 4th...

now it works for 1st and 2nd but doesn't come come on in 3rd. I hit the rev limiter a couple times forgetting it didn't work.

this makes absolutely NO sense to me. I'm electrically inclined and don't understand it.

any ideas???

No idea. My suggestion would be to adjust it back down to a lower RMP so you can test it. If it has a blinking test mode, use this and check and wiggle the the power wire. This is total speculation and pretty far fetched but the car might create a unoticable (to you) vibration (harmonic) causing the power wire to lose momentary contact when you are in third and/or at a certain speed.
