I've got a '55 Belair and I'm putting a LS7 in, I would like to do a 6L80 but I can't find one for a '10 Camaro SS. My question is the 6L80 MYC that's in a camaro, is it the same as the 6L80 MYC that's in a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 6.2L 4x2 that's a 6-speed automatic? That's the trans I want to use but I can only find ones out of silverado's.
Thanks for all the help

Thanks for all the helpYes and no. The one in the truck will have a slip yoke. The Camaro's is fixed. Now I am not sure if its a matter of changing tail housings or if you have to swap shafts. I think you have to swap shafts.
Plus you might have to mod the trans tunnel to clear the larger case of the 6l80.
Look for a 6l90 as well. Same size little longer also little stronger.

What he said. The 6l90 is used behind the 556 hp LSA engine in the CTSV.

I actually have a 6L80 out of a 2010 Camaro that I'm putting in my 65. Anyone know how to convert the Camaro trans to a slip yoke? Or anyone that would do that? I'm having a tough time finding anyone that knows what I'm talking about here in Denver.
Thanks.

Thanks.Ask in the transmission section. But pretty sure you have to swap the output shaft out.
I just sell it and get a truck 2wd unit.

Don't forget that many more 6L90's were put into trucks than CTS-V's. I would just look for a 6L80 or 90 from a 2wd truck. The G8 and Camaro 6L80 have a goofy yoke on them, you wouldn't be able to run a u-joint with it but maybe the truck yoke will bolt on?

AndyThe G8/Camaro/ and CTSV have the fixed yoke output. And you can't just remove it and install the truck slip yoke. The outputshafts are different.

I broke down and bought the Camaro driveshaft. I'll post pictures soon.
