Default Power loss...please help!!

When Im really hammering it, throughout the gears, the car loses power around 5k rpm and then begins to climb back up again. I cant quite figure out what the problem is, but can someone give me suggestions on what it could be? Thanks and any help is much appreciated.

b/c ur signature is way too descriptive. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />
It might be a bent pushrod, or something w/ the valve train. have u missed a lot of shifts, or missed one REALLY bad and over spun ur motor. you will find out whenever u finally put the cam in ur car b/c u can take a look at it. are u replacing the pushrods too w/ the cam swap?

I plan to change the springs, retainers, and pushrods when I install the cam. Im even thinking of waiting because Im leaning towards getting heads. I just dont want to be replacing my springs every 10k miles. I havent missed a shift since I got the car, but I know that I did alot when I first took it to the track because I had sucky hydraulics and a clutch system. But it never did it after I took it to the track. I just started noticing it not too long ago. If I did bend a pushrod when I missed those shifts, wouldnt I notice it right away? Thanks

Could be a plugged fuel filter, a weak fuel pump, or bad gas just to give you a few more ideas. You might want get a scanner and see if you have any stored codes.

Where is the fuel pump and filter located and do they make performance ones? Would I need a performance fuel pump on an internal stock motor? Do they make a performance filter or just buy a new one from an auto part store? Thanks

The fuel pump is inside the gas tank. The fuel filter is under car in fuel supply line & should be replaced every 30k . Your mods dont sound like you need to upgrade the pump.

I had a loss in power at 5500-5700 RPM's in most noticably 3rd and 4th gears. I installed LS6 valve springs, and that fixed the problem. Good luck.

Same here; busted spring syndrome. However, it does NOT rule out Cal said. Good luck.

I think that Im going to try the fuel filter thing first, should I replace it with one from an auto part store or a peformance one? Do they even make peformance fuel filters? Thanks. By the way, I do really notice it in 3rd and 4th, but now I can start to see it in 2nd too.

That's where mine was felt as well. Making it hard for the dealership to replicate!

If you're starting to feel it in second and it slowly came on intermittantly then became an every time occurance, that how it started on my car. At 7500 miles my valve springs were toast. I took it to the dealership and they said it was impossible for it to be the valve springs. Everything they did never fixed it. I did tho.
