Figure out what you'd like to spend and the quality you desire. Pacesetters are great for the price. Some higher end brands like Kooks and American Racing Headers are some of the best made headers you can buy, not to mention they're stainless. I wouldn't worry too much about fitment, you should be fine going with any major brand. I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "slip-fit."

Pacesetters, TSP ORY worked out great for me, and all of my other friends. If you want best of the best there's always ARH, Kooks...Since you're coming back from a deployment It's safe to assume you're gonna have made some bank to afford ARH/Kooks.

Pacesetter's are great for that price range. The fit and finish is really nice. You won't find a better header and ORY for the money! We typically keep them in stock. Give us a call when ever you are ready and we'll be happy to fix you up! We will even split shipping with you since you are military!

Thanks!
Jon

You need to seriously consider BBK ceramic headers for $499 shipped including the ORY.
I think it's the best value out there when you consider the quality you get for that price shipped.

The fit looks pretty flawless too.

I want to go with PaceSetters, but I live in the city which means rough winters, heard I would need stainless. I used to have pacesetters in my old V6 and it started to rust :/ But then again, no way im driving this SS in the winter anyways so I should be good?

But TECHNICALLY the cats weren't a part of the pipe, they just bolted onto the end of it.

with a $500 budget, I wouldn't even think of anything else but pacesetters/TSP ORY.

bought BBk long tubes with their ORY yes i know its a 2.5 y but the clearance on bbks is great and thats what i want. car is a dd after all and i drive over 3 sets of fairly tall speed bumps twice daily as i am in the military living off base driving to work every day. also bought a DMH cutout for better sound when i want it. should all come together nicley ill post pics when i get home from deployment and get them on in a week or so
