Guys I just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention. This will not effect the stock airboxes unless you submerge the car under water :eyes:.

I have a volant intake and washed the car carefully around the hood to see what water would penetrate. The issue is not water spraying into the nostrils but the collection of water from the vents to the nostrils. When you raise the hood the water collected will rush out of the nostril area and splash on the engine. The issue effect me and my setup. I drilled a hole under my nostril to release any extra water and drain it before the air box itself.

I have a hood similar to yours, same air box... the only time that happens to me (which isn't nearly as bad as what you're picturing) is if I IMMEDIATELY open my hood after washing it... and even then it usually just drips onto the Y split for the intake...

Thanks for writing this...this is the kind of feedback we're looking for on this new product. What we can start doing is adding that 3/8" hole in that location for the others.

My Suncoast Raptor hood came with holes like that on both left and right sides of the lever in the airbox corners, similar to where your hole is drilled.

Not sure if they come this way new, as I bought the hood used.

I know I'll be adding drain holes to my VFN 4" WS6 hood. I'll probably drill mine down by the hinges where the water settles when you open it...or launch! :D

That's exactly what I did to my US Exotics WS9
