Default Monte Carlo SS 2006 windows scratched

I have had my Monte since about January. When I bought it the windows were not scratched. After using them for a few months I noticed that they were starting to get scratched at the top on the outside (from the top of the window down about an inch) and a few scratches lower in the window. At first I thought that sand was getting trapped on the velvet guide because I did find sand on the guide. But now I am wondering if the protective guide has some of the soft part worn down. It does not look like it but I have never had this happen to a car. Anybody else have this problem? If so how much to replace

did anyone else just read this and go

lmao ya it did to me to when I got my tint, rolled my windonw down after 2 and half weeks of letting my titnt dry and it scratched it

I took it back to the shop and they re did everything no charge and told me the "soft part" on the window frame was really worn down and they replaced it. Now I'm assuming they meant that back plastic that the windows go up and down through. Anyway Ii never happened again after it was all replaced.

Thanks DJ. I will have to replace the soft part of the window and see if that helps. I also have my windows tinted. I have never had this happen to a car before.

Its the same on my Impala, but I'm pretty sure I'd have to change my glass out to correct it. Mine are too far gone.

check you wiper belts they might be worn

I have a couple good sized scratches on the outside of my driver's window that weren't notcieable until I got it tinted this past weekend. My wife mentioned some stuff she saw on TV that will fix scratches on reading glasses does anyone no what she is talking about and if you think it will work?
