Default need to know?

will a unlatched air lid throw a ses light? mine keeps comming unlatched and the other night the ses light came on i fixed the prob with the lid and reset the computer and the light is off. just wondering if this is what threw the light. thanks

I don't think that it would, but if the light comes on again you should get it checked at autozone, or find someone with atap or efilive to find out what it is

I also dont see how it could throw a code. If anything, It just lets more/less air in. Since its aftermarket, and maybe losing some air unlatching, it still should flow more than stock. You should have taken it too get it scanned to see what it was. It stores codes even when the light isnt on (I dont think they last threw a reset though.)

My friend somehow got a grasshopper stuck in his maf once and it still didn't throw a code, he's probably got some other problem that doesn't have to do with the intake.

pull your maf and check it for dirt muck or damage...
clean it and reistall it...
might have had unfiltered air hitting it...
also check to make sure you dont have any loose connections...

My lid used to come unlatched, but I never got a code. Pull the code and see what it is.

Most def. a MAF problem might wanna take a look at your IAT sensor too just my .02
