Default ? on Windstar dual fan wiring

I don't have my harness back yet for my 6.0 L96 (LY6), but it is supposed to come back w/fan relays and I picked up a Ford Windstar electric fan last week at the junkyard. So today I was trimming it to fit the radiator and I was looking at the wiring and was a bit surprised. Don't know why there were so many wires here. Anybody know why they take the two power leads into so many going out? Will I just cut back to the two power leads or somehow use all these?

Just be glad you got the connector plugs. Trim back the insulation, you only need the + and - wires. Oh, they pull A LOT of current, so make sure your wiring/fuse panel is up to it. I had an 8g wire to the fuse panel, then a 10g that supplied current to the relays. The wire size was sufficient, but the actual copper ribbon in the fuse panel was heating up with the fans on!
