Default 1965 c10 Conversion Headers

Hello,

Is anyone using the following headers in a 64-66 C10 2wd Chevy truck:
Pacesetter P/N 70-2256 98-02 Camaro/Firebird 5.7L LS1, Long Tube, RACE (w/o air inj. or EGR).

If so, are there any known issues with fitting or mods required? I've searched and found mixed results.

I'm swapping in a 2001 6.0L Vortec engine with a 700r4 trans, adapter plates are custom - approx. 3/4" set back from 'center' position. If my measurements are correct the 700r4 which is already in place does not have to move (no driveline or linkage mods).

Thanks

Some have made them work, but I'd steer clear of any 98-02 F-body headers mainly because of the strange exit angles of the collectors.

You might be OK with A-Arm clearance since you're setting the engine mounts back, but I tried to dry-fit a pair of used F-body headers, and the clearance on the back side of the a-arm by the grease fitting wasn't even close. I think there are much better options available.

To Jim_PA, do you have any suggestions for other headers that will fit (brand, P/N, etc)?

Thanks for the reply.

I know these have been said to fit great on 67-72's. Don't know if they'd work on the 66 and below or not. Price is nice though!

I built my own with BBC headers and LSX flanges. Spent about $200 on them, but they fit and work just fine

The 66 uses essentially the same frame as the 67's, assuming that it is US production. Some of the Canadian production trucks still ran leaf springs through 66.
I have been using Trialblazer SS stock exhaust manifolds, and they clear the frame pretty well. I had to make a small notch on the passenger frame rail, just to make sure the engine didn't vibrate against the rail if it twisted in place at all. Most of the 60-66 guys like these, or the Doug Thorley swap headers (but those require special spark plug wires).

I have some pics on page 2 or 3 of my build

I used the CSLS1 shorties from Sanderson, I am very happy with them, looks and performance.
