Default Any one know what this black box is?

I took the front bumper off my 98 Z the other day and noticed there was a black box attached to the frame near the horn on the passanger side. Also it had a vacuume line going to it? I took it off and plugged the line. Hope it was not any thing important. LMK if you have any idea what it is.

Thanks
Joe

Nope not the AIR pump. It's under the bumper near the horn.

Nope I'll take a pic and post it later tonight. It has no electrical connections going to it just a single vacuume line.

I am guessing that is one of the charcoal air filters that is used in the AIR sytem. If you take it off it will be pretty heavy. If its heavy, thats what it is.

It has to do with the HVAC system. It holds vacuum, I believe.

It's a small canister about 6x3x3. Weighs 1 lb or less.

If you follow the small vacuum hose attached to it, you will see that it ties in with hoses from the HVAC controls and intake manifold.

Yeah I don't have an A/C or heater in the car so i don't need the HVAC controls.
