I have a ticking in my motor. But I don't believe its the piston slap because it never goes away. anyone know where I can take it to get an experienced ear on it?

Speed Inc. is a good option
Straightline is a good option and closest to you assuming your location is accurate.
We could help as well if needed, so please don't hesitate to check with us.
good luck

I had a "tick" that I ask speed inc. to look at when I got some work done to my T/A.....they didnt seem to even care about looking at it. All the other work they did was good tho.

Well maybe that is because it was valve train noise amplified by the headers, if there is a major issue they won't look past it. I have been going to Speed Inc for over 10 years and had nothing but excellent service.

Ticking in LS motors is usually due to Piston to valve clearance, Bent or improper length push rods, improper torque or rocker bearing failure, Failing lifter. All witch are easily fixable in ones driveway. Not trying to take any business away from anyone, just trying to save a working man some money. You can isolate the issue usually by when (cold or warm) and at what RPM the ticking begins. PM me if you would like to discuss this further.
