Question Idea - Inviting Mustangs to Race?

with the Spring Break Shootout coming up in about 3 weeks, I'm wondering if it might make things a little more interesting to invite some 12-13 second Mustangs to come play in the 12.00 and 13.00 ET index. I'm not sure how busy those two classes will be with just f-bodies racing, and it would be a good way to pump up the payouts in those two classes.

Any objections? Those Mustang guys would LOVE to come win a class at an LS1 event.... can we take them?

WE NEED A 11 SEC BRACKET!

Otherwise the impy has no one to play with!

Mike, your Impy is an oddball car. 11.00 Index was mostly heads/cam LS1s last year, now they have their own class. If we have time next year, its a possibility. You could always turn off the bottle and run slower

How bad can i sandbag in the 12.00 class. I mean can i run on motor and toggle the n20 if i start to lose?

Its not much fun to run a 10 sec car in a 12.0 class.

I did run a 12.2 @ 111.98 on motor with only 28 deg of timing. Maybe if i bump up the timing i can get close to a 12.0.

We shall see.

Sandbagging isn't as fun as just setting up a car and being able to floor it to a consistent low index ET. If you ran 12.2 on motor, you could just drop some weight and be a real contender in that class.

I can hear it already." Those LS1 guys are inviting slow Mustangs to compete in their index class. The wussies wont let us come race heads up because they know we will smack them down."

Default Mustangs

I don't think it would work out very well. I believe we would be made fun of by letting them run the index classes only. Opens the door for some bashing, IMO.

Mustangs can race in the heads up classes, they just have to have an LS1/LT1 under the hood. Thats in the rules, and always has been

Its an LS1 event, they know that. Opening up the Index classes just gives us some more entries and more entertainment value. Most of the spectators don't really watch the slower index classes, but they might if its Mustangs vs GMs....

Slow cars are just that, slow cars. 12-13 second F-bodies and Stangs are a dime a dozen, so I don't think it'd matter much either way. I also think it'd open up a whole new doorway to smashing us in the ***** about not letting the fast Stangs come race....

If it weren't for the fact that they actually would own our asses in the faster classes I think it would go over smoother, but they are going so much quicker at this point on stock suspsension and with less cubes.

So, in other words, some of you are scared of big bad 12-13 second Mustangs and fear having the 8-9 second Mustangs talk internet smack to you. LOL. Come on, it is just for fun.
