TR224 vs. EPS 230/238 TSP Stg 2.5 5.3L Dyno/Track Results
I installed a new H/C combo earlier this spring that I finally have up and running. This setup is installed in an 3rd Generation RX7, in case the exaust and CAI is confusing anyone. Here are the specs:
2002 LS1/T56
EPS 230/238 0.600"/0.603" 112+2
PRC Stage 2.5 5.3L Ported Heads
Katech Rod Bolts
LS6 Intake, Ported TB, Samberg Racing CAI Package
FMS Red Top Injectors
JTR 1-3/4 Headers, Y-pipe, Single 3" Exhuast, Magnaflow 5x8 Muffler
NGK TR6 Plugs
Comp 7.425" Hardened PRs
MSD Wires
Monster Stage III Clutch and Chromoly Flywheel
Compression ~ 10.8:1
I had the car street tuned, and unfortunately the wideband was not reading too well so I was left with what we thought was a conservative AFR which turned out to be sub 10.0:1 on the dyno . I made a best of 434rwhp, 363 ft-lb torque revving the engine up to around 6,600/6,700. I believe that there was a lot left on the table (esp. in the TQ department) because of the pig-rich AFR's and cutting my pull a couple hundred RPM too short.
SO I brought the car back to the tuner who replaced his wideband and we dialed the car in to 12.5:1. I'll put it back on the dyno as soon as I can to see what the new numbers are. But in the meantime, I took the car to the track to race last night and I pulled a best of 11.53 @ 127 with a crappy 1.89 60' (race weight 2875#). I trapped as high as 129.5 that night, but I believe that this was attributed to tire spin. So it seems I might be in the 450-460 rwhp range.
Here's the dyno graph which compares my new setup (red) to my old 224/stock heads (green) to my baseline stock bolton numbers (blue). Amazing the difference in power characteristics! My last year's best time was a 11.66 @ 119 with a 1.75 60'... If I can get back into those 60's I'm hoping to meet my goal of getting a 10 second slip this year.

Nice gains. Very strong mph which back up your dyno numbers. Congrats.

I wouldn't waste your time, IMO. The car has picked up a substantial amount of MPH in the 1/4!
Car is absolutely perfect, from the paint down to the mods (motor included ). Very nice OP!

I'm running Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials... 255/50/16's currently. I got 1.77 out of them last year, I've seen guys getting 1.6X's with the same car/tire combo so I think I can pull it off... i just gotta stop wussing out off the line

I never had luck with m/t tires on my m6 trans am. I was in the mid 1.6 with them and borrowed a set of tires i never heard of from a friend cuz my one m/t had a flat when going to the track. They were called M&h Racemasters. I went to the track and went mid 1.5 all day on them and they were in a 16'' rim like my m/t's.. I then bought my own set and they were even better cuz they were new. I cut a best of 1.42 60's on a M&h Racemaster 26x11.5x15 cheeter slick n/a in a 3,700lbs car with me in it. I also ran close to 10's n/a on that lil ls1 set up and a 10.27 on a 150 shot. On the M&H tire i can come out at 6,500rpm's with both wheels up and dead hook. . www.intercotire.com

I ran the car again on Friday night... quite pleased with the trap speeds yet again. I took a good 0.100 off my 60' and that translated to about .200 at the big end of the track. Hopefully I'll get it down another 0.100 next time out and start knocking on the 10's door.
60': 1.826
330': 4.955
1/8: 7.445
MPH: 102.06
1000: 9.575
1/4: 11.349
MPH: 130.41
Shifting around 6600/6700 rpm, 15psi in my 255/50/16 MT ET Streets. I absolutely love this H/C combo for my car!

It's actually a hybrid Mazda differential. 3.90:1 gears from an Automatic car and a clutch-pack LSD from a 1987 turbo model. So far it's taken all the abuse I've thrown at it, but I don't expect it to last tooooo much longer. I will be upgrading to a 8.8 IRS with 3.73 gears next...
