oil pressure gauge??

oil pressure gauge?? had the car for years but dont get to drive it much. after shutting the car off, ive noticed the gauge will drop to nothing as i would expect it to, but then it slowly starts to increase to around 40 psi??? is this normal? then i can cycle the key on and off again, and the gauge will drop to zero then slowly climb to 10psi??? anyone elses car do this?

Probably normal. After shut off mine stays at the last pressure - about 40 - all other gauges go to zero except that one. On startup goes to zero and quickly returns to above that.

I'm glad to find this old post and see a few others share this happen as well.
All gauges return to zero key off including the oil pressure, BUT then the oil gauge slowly creeps up a tad before wresting.
Key on, engine off all gauges zero out.
Key on all gauges work fine.
