you are correct, the only car to come with the ls6 engine from the factory is the z06.

There was actually a push in the Pontiac division to produce a limited quantity of LS6 powered Firebirds, targetting an 04-05 availability. Pontiac special vehicles division actually built up an LS6 firebird prototype (using a v6 car as the base platform, ironically enough). Unfortunately, as we all know, there was never to be ANY 04 or 05 firebirds, much less one powered by an LS6.

So, as has already been stated, the LS6 was never an option for any car, and can only be found from the factory in the Z06 and soon to arrive CTS-V.

Aiight heres the REAL deal.. There is a guy around that has a very quick LS1 Z28.. and he claims the car is all stock, last weekend he outran a friend of mine in a 02 GT, Fash00 accused him of sprayin and almost got his *** whooped, I talked to a couple of the guys friends and they said it was a factory LS6 Fbody, I was just wondering if GM made these or if it was BS, I was not agruing the fact just wanted a reliable answer...

no 98+ f-body has the option code "LS6" for the motor.

It is possible for an 01 or 02 F-Body to have an LS6 block.
As said before 15-25% of 01-02s have them.
My '01 has it.

ok im the guy that got out run , i have a 2002 gt with a 8 lb vortech , and full exhaust , other guy claims to be stock with 410s and drag radials , control arms and catback . he got me by a car length or so , most of which he pulled in first gear , stayed pretty close after that because i spun pretty bad on my slick a$$ tires , but i dont have an intercooler and my car hasnt been tuned yet and when the engine has been hot and running for a while i lose all kinds of power compared to when the engine is still semi cold , i offered to ice down my intake tube and run him again and he declined , i dont know if he sprayed but supposedly his car runs 8.18s in an eighth which doesnt really surprise me because his car hooks like a motha , but for me not to be able to run him down on top end makes me wonder ???????

OK, this is the god's honest truth right here, and I know because both of my cousins work for GM, one in the LS1/LS6 assembly plant, and the other in the plant which casts the block, heads, etc.

Exactly 2 LS6 f-bodies were indeed made! Middle management guys snuck these cars through, they managed to code the LS6 motor on the crate as an LS1, and follow it through production to make sure it went in their exact cars. One car made it out on the streets, but the second car didn't because it's owner was a bit too vocal, getting his picture taken with the car on the assembly line, etc. So word got out and these two guys ended up getting in huge trouble, one got fired, the other demoted, and both cars were returned and LS1 engines put in them.

theres a stang with the same setup as you that goes to e-town sometimes i usually get him by 1-2 cars with my setup. so without all the heavy suspension stuff and my p.o.s. converter that sounds about right to me

8.1 isn't all that hard to get. Good bolt ons will do it. If he has 4.10's, it defintly isn't hard. I run 8.5 in the 1/8 with just a lid, and catback.

A 99+ GT w/8lbs and exhaust isn't all that great anyway. Maybe high 12's if you could drive?
