Default '87 K5 ls1 build questions?????

Got the motor in the truck and putting the finishing touches but I'm having trouble with my kick down cable. I have a 5.3l ls1 bolted to a 700r4 trans........ so my dilema is, is there anyone or anywhere that sells a bracket to mount my kick down cable to the throttle body or am I screwed?

i dont think so. i think if you go with a 700R4 and an LS engine, you need to use a 4150 style TB.

im getting ready to do the same project in an 89K5, but im going with a NV4500 trans. getting sick of the 700R4 slush box that never seems to quit leaking.

lets see some pics of the beast. what did you use for headers? how was the swap overall?

check this out. if you use a TB from a non traction control F-body, you can probably make this work.

No headers right now but I went through street and performance for the motor mount plates and gm parts direct for the adapter and fly wheel bolts and auto zone for the flywheel but it went very smooth. Is there anyone that sells headers for this application?

I'm kinda new how do I post pix? Lol

either attach them, or upload them thru photobucket.

as far as the cable, it is universal for a 700R4. you would just have to adapt it to fit the throttle body, and make the mounting plate off the TBI engine fit on the intake. you might be able to conjure up your stock TV cable to the TB. not sure. im going with a carb on my engine, just because i dont want to deal with all the wiring and stuff. i want a clean engine compartment because its only going to be a mud truck.

Looks great dude. But any tv cable won't work with an electriconic throttle body.
