Ran my 98' Z-28 on the 21st and I am happy. Car has; lid, longtubes, ORY, loudmouth, unerdrive pulley, 3600 stall, built trans, subframe connectors, tubular rear LCA's, drag radials, stock 3.23 gears, full weight, stock springs and shocks, no a/c, and a 160k miles.

Only got 3 passes in, my first 2 were a 12.72 (spun) and a 12.23 (dropped the tires to 15 psi). My final pass was as follows...

DA was 72
Reaction .0378
60ft. 1.7662
330ft 4.9851
1/8 ET 7.7172
1/8 MPH 90.17
1/4 ET 12.0992
1/4 MPH 111.62

I think I could have squeaked a 11, but I didn't get a chance to run again. Here's a video of my quickest run, didn't get the last part of the pass, camera ran out of memory :bang:

Good run, I've got pretty similar mods and ran about the same time last year. I know mine has 11's in it as well but didn't get to make another clean pass. You can hit that 11 easy with another clean pass. What was the DA?

Thanks guys, the DA was 72 according to the drag times website. I hope to put in some 3.73's this summer and hit some high 11's

Nice, there's 11's for sure if you get those shorts where they should be. My '98 T/A went 12.08 at 110 with a 1.56 sixty with similar mods and 3.73 gear/4000 converter. What's your raceweight? Mine comes in at just over 3800lbs with me in it (180lbs).

Congrats on a great running '98 :thumb:

Congrats. So many people look at me like I don't know crap when I say a full bolt on auto 4th gen can run 11's in good DA. If you would have taken out your passenger seat, rear seat, spare tire/jack, and ran a super low tank of gas (maybe even removed from swaybar) you would have had 11's for sure!

Do you have a ram air like the FTRA, Chris1313, SSRA?

Thanks, that's a pretty good 60' you got there. I weighed my car at the local dump so I'm not sure how accurate it is, but with me and less than a 1/4 tank it weighed 3550lbs

Ha ha, had a couple people ask what was in my car, they looked surprised when I told them it was just bolt ons with a stall. By the end of the year I will remove the front sway bar and seats just to see what she'll run. I try to race in street trim as much as possible though so I know my street performance is as close to track performance as I can get.

Do you have a ram air like the FTRA, Chris1313, SSRA?

No I don't, just the free ram air mod (holes cut in the bottom of the air box)

has the car been tuned?

Yeah, I tune it myself with HP tuners

Don't waste your time on gears.
You can do it with your existing mods in better air. Work on traction!

Your 60' sucks. Get that down and it'll be a lot faster.

Yeah your 60ft does suck, you should practice and get a nice 2.3 60ft like me. (sarcasm) :jest:

That's what I've heard, hopefully I can get the 60' down into the 1.6's

Ha ha right, I was getting 2.2-2.3 on street tires

What HP tuner did you buy? Are they easy to use?

I have the HP Tuners Suite. As far as ease of use, that is very subjective. It can get overwhelming fast, but if you take your time and research it isn't rocket science to do on a bolt on car.

Nice times

Thanks

Damn that's a hell of a view! Must be nice.

It is a killer view with the track sitting a the base of a mountain, one of the most scenic drag strips I think

A good CAI would most likely get you into the 11's. Since you have the AC removed the SSRA Mega Mouth would bring in a lot more air. The Mega Mouth is similar to the regular SSRA, in that it has a scoop, however it's much larger since people with no AC have removed the condenser. This frees up a lot of room.

Yeah, considering getting one since they are relatively affordable and seem to have solid results

gotta love those stalled autos!

They definitely serve there purpose in drag racing:nod:

Take some weight out and your 60' will drop. My 60' dropped from 1.7 to 1.6 by taking out around 150lbs or so. The times in sig are in +500 DA on 275 40 17 zr1s all around and mt drs in the rear.
Dont underestimate a good cai kit. I really like the ssra. I have ssra megamouth coming on fri seeing how I deleted my a/c. I will have 11s in the fall no problem.
