Default LS7 Clutch questions...

How much better is the LS7 Clutch vs. LS6 clutch? Ive had a LS6 clutch before. Its was good on the street, ok rolling WOT runs on the street, but it sucks at the track with about 400rwhp. How much hp is the LS7 clutch rated at? Are you able to make a few passes at the track from time to time? Also, where is the best place to buy complete kit? Any info will be appreciated. thanks!!

A Ls7 clutch will support 450rwhp with no problems.

Spend a little more and get a Monster.

It's a complete kit, it's proven, and it comes with a warranty!

I orginally wanted to get a monster but after reading many posts about chatter/ squealing i decided to keep shopping. I hate, i repeat, i hate chatter or weird noises since my car will be a street car 90% of the time. My old ls6 clutch was silent...only problem...it doesnt hold much power. My current ram clutch is...ok but chatters from time to time. Im hoping to find something to hold 500rwhp with no chatter if possible.

What are you planning to change in your combination to achieve 500 rwhp?

Already close to 500rwhp on spray. My car dynos SAE corrected 394rwhp 385rwtq N/A 486rwhp 541rwtq on spray on new tune. I just want something to hold more than that to be safe. Better to hold more than less. Im guessing I should have a clutch capable of 600hp like diamond stg 2. I just want a clutch that has ZERO, or very minamal chatter/ squeals.

an ls7 clutch will hold you just fine and its a great street clutch no chatter releases just like factory and they are cheap i have one in my camaro car has not been dynoed but should be 400rwhp give or take a little and i have 125hp shot on top of it and it does fine i have made several passes at the track on drag radials spraying off the line and have yet to have any problems out of it and i usually hot lap three passes or so at a time

Go with a monster once you learn the feel of the clutch there is no chatter and I've never had any squealing

If you are really concerned about the driveability of the unit I would recommend the Monster Level 2. It's good up to 550 at the wheels and once broken in there is zero chatter. Today is the last day of the sale, so give me a call!

I have the LS7 set-up on my car. It originally dyno'd a 508 rwhp in 2007 and 524rwhp last summer. So it survives just fine. I DD the car in the warm weather. Been to the track a few times. Never had an issue. No chatter, easy engagement. You can get them at some of the sponsors on here (or at least previous sponsors).
