Default ls7 cam in a Lq4 CEL

I just got my lexus sc600 up and running yesterday. only problem is that the ecu has a cam sensor code. I was told that the Ls7 has 4 lobes on the cam and the lq4 is only looking for 2 lobes, is there some fix to this problem so that i dont have hard starts and a check engine light ??

First, Is your cam sensor on the front engine cover?

So is there any fix to this or should I just let the motor run off of the crank sensor

No cam sensor locations are completely different... LS2/LS7 have the cam sensor up front and ls1/lq4 have the cam sensor in the back. Gen 3 vs Gen 4.... So obviously the reluctor on the ls7 cam is on the front vs the ls1 cam reluctor on the back.

There's a fix, SDPC sells an LS2 conversion kit that has a new front cover w/ cam position sensor mount, cam sprocket w/ reluctor, and wiring harness extension.

Pull the front cover, swap the cam gear, install the new front cover and cam pos sensor, click on the harness, and you're in business.

PS: talk w/ them about it before you drop your cash. Not sure if the cam sprocket is a 3-bolt or 1-bolt piece and you'll want to ensure you get the right one...
