What Temperature SHould the Tranny Run On Average? Got a Trans Temp. Gauge installed. What should the Temperature read... Mine averages about 160.

Mine runs anywhere from 110 to upwards of 170 under heaving driving. If you are doing a lot of stop and go town driving you number will be in the higher ranges.

Atap readings generally are higher than the aftermarket gages that people install into their trans pans.
On Atap, I average about 17X degrees once the car is fully warmed up, or 18X if it's hot outside.
