Default need a little help

alright so i finally got my car running. took it out tonight and its havin a wierd issue. itll be driving fine for a while and then all of a sudden i lose power and when i try to press the gas it tries to stall. pull over turn the car off and then back on and itll drive fine for a little while then do the same thing, its very random though.

my buddy told me he was kinda havin the same issues until he unplugged the front o2 sensors. i tried unplugging them and still have the issue.

my friend didnt really change much when he turned off my vats. he said he adjust for the injectors a little and that was about it. i still have all the egr and evap check engine codes.

oh motor is a 2001 5.3l

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get your codes turned off then drive it some. If you are able to keep driving (like on a side street) it may just be computer tryin to relearn new parameters.

I would run a scan on the computer and see if there are any codes set. I would also do a data log while driving under the conditions where the problem occurs. If your friend tuned the computer they should have the ability to do this.

I would check fuel pressure at the rails.Take a ride with the gage hooked up so you can watch it.

Very Important. Your fuel pressure should be ~58 with the engine running... anything less is

If the power loss is happening at the same speed or RPM check ALL of your sensor connections, and grounds, if all good check the tune. You really need to get it data logged if the problem persist. And drive it as little as possible until you get this resolved. Have you tried running it open w/o the cat.
