do i need the heat wrap that goes around the line to the brake booster?

If you don't like it starting to look ratty, you can redo it with some heat wrap from DEI. I used some of the sheet stuff, about $16.00 at Advance.

You could just remove it; there is not enough heat to hurt that line.

It protects the hose from heat from the exhaust manifold.
