Default how's my ddipstick 4L60E

So does the dipstick tube sit properly (please see pic)? I had to bend it so I can insert it in its hole. But I don't know if it sits well enough. Also by how much should the dipstick stick out from the tube? I have 3/4 inch. Thanks

I would imagine the tube needs to seat fully to the flared portion. If not, you'd chance a leak and over filling it. Just my guess though.

I think you are right. I wasn`t sure either but now I am pretty sure it should sit fully. I got to buy another one. I tried to bend and unbend the original one i destroyed it.

maybe find one from another car now instead of a F-Body (it`s for a GM d-body) I`ll take a look at those from Caprice and Impalas SS. If not I`ll bite the bullet and buy a Lokar

Yeah that stick needs to sit flush with the rubber seal.
