Anyone had cam/crank sensor sync problems with the EFI Connections 24X conversion?
Car is having trouble starting. Will crank like hell, pop out the exhaust a few times, etc. Will do this for 2-3 times and then finally start up like nothing happened. Tuner says this sounds typical of cam sensor sync problems since you always have to stop cranking and turn the key again and it'll fire right up (I guess this relearns the sync or something?). Anyway, rather peculiar problem, has anyone had trouble with this before? Tune is otherwise dialed in and runs just fine.

I had the opposite problem of my tune was way off so I had to play with the throttle to just keep it running. I guess I also didn't have the cam dowel tapped back far enough, and it rubbed on the housing for the cam sensor.
Before I had the motor tore down I'd have to crank for a long time before it would fire off.
Well I hope you track down your issue, at least I'm not the only person having issues since changing to the 24x system now?

We had that problem on mine, check to see that the cam sensor is counting in the PCM. The sensor wouldn't count on mine, we unplugged it, plugged another sensor in out side of the car and waved a bolt past it while the motor was on and it counted that. We ended up modifying the sensor a little and it has worked perfect ever since. What timing cover are you using? We are using the Billet TPIS on mine.

What did you have to do to modify it?
I'm using the stock OBDII timing cover.
Also, I don't remember receiving any instructions, but I could have just misplaced them. I bought the parts separately and had my buddy who does vehicle wiring do the harness, so maybe that has something to do with that.

A little clarification here...
Instructions
Every 24x conversion was shipped with instructions and a troubleshooting guide. Misplaced instructions and troubleshooting guide can be requested and emailed promptly (during normal business hours).
Cam Signal Issues
The cam signal components were designed on a stock LT1 engine. So far, the only problems related to cam signal have been due to...
I recall only one (Neil?) who had to modify the signal any other reason.

- some aftermarket timing sets that change the cam sprocket thickness
- DIYers who follow LS1 cam sensor schematics rather than the included pinout document for LS2/LS3 type cam sensor
I recall only one (Neil?) who had to modify the signal any other reason.

Just wanted to let everyone one know this is exactly what the problem was. My wiring guy must have gone into autopilot mode, it's just pins A & C being switched on the cam sensor which is really easy to do. Starts like a champ now.
