Long tube headers and oil level sensor
I'm installing some Ebay headers on a 97 TA and I had to remove the oil level sensor to fit them in from the bottom but I cant get the sensor back in now.. the sensor is to long and I cant get the angle becuase of the tubes.
Anyone else have this issue? anyone just plug the hole in the pan? I read some people had this issue but I believe it was with aftermarket oil pans and they just crossed the wires so there was no code and checked their oil level daily? I would prefer to keep the sensor but dont see this being possible with out some fab work with a 5lbs sledge hammer...
Thanks for your time & input.

No idea you could cross the wires and plug the hole, id do that, If your putting long tubes on, then obviously you care about your car enough to know what condition the oil level is in, i would hope so anyways.
I know i had mine out to do my oil pan gasket, but put it back in befor i put my long tubes on. That oil level sensor was the least of my problems with even the ebay long tubes.
thats my dollar minus 98%....

can you just not get it up there to put it back on because the header is in the way?
or will it not fit at all because of the header? (even if you magically got it on it would hit the header?)

Are you talking about the oil level sensor in the oil pan? My headers are a mile away from there I'm not sure how you're even close. Are you sure you're not talking about a different sensor? Even then, my headers weren't near any sensor when I installed them.

Don't cut anything. Just put a single staple in the connector and it'll jump the switch. You never know if/when you'll use that connector again. Don't understand how, if you have a stock oil pan, the header would be a clearance hindrance...

I was hitting the oil level sensor when trying to get the header in from the bottom, once removed it slipped right in. Problem solved used a 2004 Subaru Forester XT 2.5L Turbo for an application and got a 20mmx1.5mm oil pan drain plug from Advance Auto. Saturated it in RTV and screwed it in the bung.
