distributer button.
96 lt1 camaro rebuilding motor witch direction does the button half to be facing or does it matter since its computerized timing its tdc rite now if neone has a pic would be greatly appreciated. If it does matter that's great to thanks guys!!!

if you look at the 3 keyholes on the back of the Opti, there is one that is different than the other 2. THAT is the one you need to put the dowel pin into.
YES IT MATTERS! If you put it in the wrong hole your timing will be off. It wont "hurt" anything cause only the spark will be off, but it wont run. it HAS to go into that specific hole.

When you install the cam, your timing dots should be lined up with the Cam Sprockt's dot at the 6 o'clock and your crank sprocket's dot at the 12 o'clock. The cam's dowel pin should be at the 3 o'clock. Then install the opti with that keyhole on the dowel pin. You should be good to go from there.
