That's an ignorant statement.....The summit versions of draglites etc. are just about as good as welds. And when you're on a budget, there is no reason these won't be a fine choice. I would love me a set of weld draglites but I don't feel like spending that much $ on them especially since I drive my car often and will probably only use them for the track.

only thing im worried about is that backspacing in the front won't clear the brakes or it will stick out of the car because don't you need a 1.5 in the front?????

I don't recall what spacer is needed but IIRC the LT1 brakes will accept these wheels without grinding but LS1 cars need to be ground down a bit.

Try a set of Summit® Warrior R/T wheels on your ride. These one-piece cast aluminum wheels are polished for good looks and feature classic 5-spoke styling. Warrior R/T wheels are available in a wide range of popular bolt patterns and backspacing to suit your needs.
These Weld Prostar polished wheels are like no other wheels on the street or strip. They're precision-crafted from cold-forged aluminum for superior strength and are up to 40% lighter than comparable race wheels. The wheels are guaranteed tubeless and include an aluminum push-through center cap.
Talk about ignorance. I wouldn't dd a cast aluminum skinny around here.

Sometimes driving "like an idiot" is necessary in daily driving to avoid road hazards and emergency maneuvers would not be something I'd want to do on skinnies. It happens.

I was talking more on the lines of a drag setup. I wouldn't DD my skinnies and would most likely run slicks on the rears, thus the words "drag setup". If I did DD with that I would spend the money on draglites.

Just get some nittos on the rear and get some skinnys and swap them on at the track. M/T's are better but wear very fast. I have the nittos for my shooters and M/T'S on drag lights for the track. But like u seen i cut a 1.7 60' with a full weight and stock motor on nittos
