I have a 468 it was rebuilt when I bought it im wondering if I should have my engine guy throw in a set of main studs without line honeing what you guys think

Always line hone when using main studs.

That sucks would have to rebuild then would it really be worth the 500 im only going to be spinning 6500 and like 600 horse

I'm was running bolts in a superstock 427 spinning over 8k. Studs are not needed.

Always line hone when using main studs.

X2 and most OEM blocks you to cut the caps at least .003 to be able to line hone and have the caps clean up every where. That how bad GM mains lines cam be!!

Its also a shorter stroke which makes a differance!

Studs are not needed. But if they are installed ALWAYS line hone. It will need it.
