Default will car water pump work with truck acc.?

I read the sticky and multiple threads already but didnt find a straight answer. Has anyone used a car style water pump on an acc. set up from a truck? I really dont wanna spend a bunch of money trying to modify the truck one to work.

I cant believe I forgot about that. Thanks! Now I have to decide which way would be better. I Can either modify the truck one or buy a car one and buy spacers. Looks like I would be spending about the same due to the cost of the spacers...

What are you trying to do, put a car intake on the truck motor?

yes, but I relocated the alt. and I saw on another thread that the truck water neck interferes with the throttle body on the side of it. I have it all worked out except for the water neck.

New L99 Camaro pump lines up with truck acc w/o spacers. Inlet is on the drivers side though and may not work in some applications.

Several options:
spacers
L99 pump
press the f body pulley farther off the shaft
swap the truck pulley on f bodyn pump
or buy one already done

What about a wp off a later model truck. My buddy bought an 07 6.0 and it looks like the the wp would clear.

My 09 truck wp would not clear an LS3 intake and TB. Should work if I used a truck TB with the LS3 intake. I did not have a truck TB. Chose to replace the wp instead of the tb.

This is on an LY6.

Several options.

Oh, the L99 pump may be exactly what I am looking for, I am using electric fans and a radiator with the inlet on the drivers side anyway so location of the inlet shouldn't be a problem. One question if anyone can answer, will the truck tnesioner bolt up to this pump or would I need to get a L99 tensioner as well?

what are you trying to accomplish, moving the inlet or is it the stand off of the pump that matters. If you want to run the truck balancer and pump you can get the spacer kits to move out the alternator and the power steering brackets for the fbody brackets or if you are running truck style and just want to run a fbody pump you can use the pump spacer kit

Also curious about the L99 pump and tensioner. Chances are most of my brackets will be custom anyway to make room for the turbo piping.

I have a 2004 5.3 out of a truck with all the brackets and accessories, but I need to install a car intake for clearance issues. I know how to modify the alt/ps bracket to move the tensioner, just trying to figure out the cheapest/easiest way to deal with the water pump outlet. I have seen the spacers but doesn't that require machining the tensioner to fit the pump, or was I misinformed? I have also seen the foxfinders conversion pump, but would rather have something I can pick up locally if I need to.

One thing that I think that goes un noticed about using the spacers for the pump is that you need the tensioner thats meant to be used with the pump you are using. So if you use a 4th gen F car pump with truck accessories you need to use a F car tensioner.

if you go the car water pump with truck pulley swapped on it will the truck tensioner still work then?

Nope, not without some mod like grinding or milling. Since the tensioner mounts to the water pump, you need the tensioner and pump to match.

Yes, the truck tensioner on an f body pump with the truck pulley spaced correctly will fit the truck accessory spacing. The tensioner mounting pads distance from the block mating surface is the same on f body, LQ4/9, LM7, and L92 (about 1.5"). Not sure on the L99.
I've done 2 swaps that way.
