Hey,
There is a 99 SS for sale at a dealer I'm interested in. Its a 6spd car, from Ontario with 48000 kms on it. The dealer wants $10888. I haven't bought an fbody in a while, but just sold my mustang. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Good deal just on mileage alone IMO.. As long as the car is in excellent shape otherwise, like paint, interior, etc.. I would be all over that. From F-Body's I've seen with that kind of mileage it almost sounds too good to be true. Do some research

That sounds like an awesome deal specially at a stealership too. Most low km SS's usually fetch atleast 15+. Not that i want to bash you but man you go through alot of cars lol.

I'm sure I know this car, silver right?
Because of the body kit and the price I thought for sure it was a V6 until I looked at it closer.

Good deal - but make sure it's not a wreck.

I found a lot of good deals last year that turned out to be wrecks.

They will tell you they are built back better than new - yeah right.

Also make sure it's a real SS.

I agree with him and excellent point to mention. It's pretty easy to duplicate an SS.. In the driver side door jam you will see the RPO list of option codes and if its a real SS it will have code WU8 along with a SLP sticker on the top or bottom of the factory code list. The SLP one will say what options it came from the SLP facility.

Almost entirely true. Not all true WU8 (read SS or Firehawk) cars came with the SLP sticker stating the SLP options (for instance, the car was optioned WU8, but no SLP options). If your car does have an SLP sticker, it will located in the passenger door jam (at least from showroom stock, this is where SLP located it) stating any SLP options the car came with.

Hey guys! Thanks for all your help, but the car sold! I was going to check it out tomorrow, lol! Darn! Anyway, I've found a 2000 SS with only 20,000km's on it. Owner wants $11,700 obo. Sound pretty good? I think it sounds reasonable. THe only thing stopping me is the pewter color.

Pewter is awesome,my DD V6 is Pewter and I wish my TA was.

It is so easy to keep clean and doesn't show things as easy.

Snap it up before its gone.

Mine is in the drivers side jam.. I have never seen a passenger side door jam SLP sticker on a Hawk that is. If you have a WU6 (Firehawk) or WU8 (SS) code, your going to have an SLP sticker, regardless if you have any options or not. I don't have any Firehawk options and I still have one, nuff said.

No SLP sticker on my car at all, and it's a WU8 C#177 1999 SS.
