Default cheap 2010 camaro lt headers for fox swap?

since we now know that ls3 camaro exhaust manifolds fit fox swaps, does anyone know if long tubes fit? i have a 4.6 stock k member. so the motor sits a little farther back than the aje k. here are the headers im talking about.

Not sure if they will fit, I sure wish I knew someone local with a set of camaro headers so I could attempt a fitup. I'd guess the ones in your link would hit the firewall. Just a guess based on a ebay pic but they look like the primaries go back pretty far. I'm tempted to buy a set of shorties from a vendor that would take them back if they didn't fit, there are a bunch of nice looking stainless or coated sets out there cheap.

I got a set because Id read they fit 82-92 Fbody LSx swaps. They do not

Might fit your Fox, cant guarantee it. If you were closer Id let you try

For as cheap as they are, they're surprisingly good quality. The flange is cast and magnetic. The tubes and collector are stainless

Vs the hawks 3rd gen ripoff's

I bought a set of 2010 Camaro headers for my Fox swap. I ended up getting the Pacesetters.

I did a quick fitment, no engine in thebay, it seems the o2 sensor bung will need to be moved. It points straight up.

Cmon Zipster stop teasing and try it with that 6.0 and let us inquiring minds know if they REALLY fit. I thought you were going to try the Pacesetter shorties, guess you went crazy and said Longtubes or go home. O2 bungs should be easy to move.

Anyway,
I went outside and put in the engine, bolted the headers up, and the batteries in the camera are dead. They are charging now. I will post pics in 45 min.

Back from photohut,

Well I dont think they will work. The collectors are to far apart. The drivers side is right in line with the steering shaft. The passenger side hits the k member at the control arm brace. Now, if they were cut at the tubes right at the flange at the head they might be coaxed into fitting. But, this rotation will bring the headers lower to the ground.

If I tip the header this amount on the passenger side it clears everything.

So close but yet so far away. The steering shaft issue is a total deal breaker. Time to test fit some camaro shorties???

I would be willing to bet the shorties will fit. The other post about the manifolds fitting would confirm this. Only because the flange on the head is the same overall size/shape as the OEM manifold.

Sorry guys, I am throwing in the towel. I am going to buy Dynatechs.

sometimes you can get a good deal on 351 windsor headers for a fox and then get LS1 flanges and cut and weld.

Well Tim thanks for trying, You wouldnt consider the shorty camero headers, 10-15 HP difference for an extra $400 approxamatly? I am still undecided.

I have a saying, "I would rather to have tried and failed than never tried"

Also, I would use the shorties, But full lengths make more all around power, not just HP. I am going to sit on the fence and make a decision. $400.00 is $400.00, and I want the car done soon. But, I also don't want to make hasty decisions that I might regret later on. Everything else I did to this car had lots of thought and planning. Not just throwing money at the problem.

A year and a half ago this car was going to get a turbo 2.3 Ford. I had everything, Then I rented a 2008 Corvette and ran it in the Texas Mile. It ran 165mph, lots of fun. I got hooked on the LSx engines. Sold all my 2.3 stuff and got out a clean sheet of paper.

Now I am 95% there, just need to complete it.

LS1 flanges are anywhere from 45-65 from vendors, fox headers for 351 we found for if I remember right 150, cut, and weld 50.oo 250 for headers that fit perfect. I wonder if you can use 302 which are easier to find. 351w is a little taller and wider

maybe i should mention that if you did not know that 302, 351w and LS1 exhaust ports are in perfect alignment, who would have guessed.

The issue I found when considering 302 headers for modification is primary size. They max out at 1-5/8", not enough for an LSx engine according to most.

1 3/4 is available for 302, but I still think it needs to be 351w based. common size for them is 1 3/4. Only worth it if you can find a deal on a set.
