98 z28 w/ 00 motor/comp/harness gauges not working?

Default 98 z28 w/ 00 motor/comp/harness gauges not working?

so i picked up a 98 z28 roller and am putting a 00 motor, trans, computer, and harness in it and got the car running but the gauges just light up with check engine, check gauges ect but the needles dont read anything. ive been told the 99+ stuff is one wire or something but how do i make the 98 gauges work with the 00 harness?

thanks wasnt sure if this was the right section to ask this or not and couldnt find what i need i any searches

What did you do about the connectors that tie the engine harness to the body harness, since one of them has 3 connectors and the other has 2 of them?
Also the 98 cluster uses a differant coolant temp sensor with an extra wire going right up to the gauge.
The fuel gauge is driven differantly on the 98 cluster

Personally I would have tried to start with a 98 harnes and repined it for the 2000 PCM
