Default 2002 nickey zl1 went in mecum auction

2002 Nickey Camaro SS 1LE ZL1 #69, went at mecum for i believe $94,000. This thing is a beast and is a 1 of 1 car registered at the nickey registry. Heres more info http://www.nickeychicago.net/vehicle.php?id=111. When you get to the site click on more info for the story and specs, its got a lot of nut. If this is a repost sorry.

Cool car but definitely not a 2002 ZL-1. If you read the article, it states it is a 35th anniversary SS which is exactly what it is. I have seen this car up close and personal at the SuperCar Reunion.

Here are some pictures that I took of this car:

You will notice on the back of the car it has the "SS" logo instead of the "ZL1 SuperCar" logo like my car has.

And...............it is not #69 because the #69 ZL1 was built and owned by Mike Carahan of GMMG who now owns Vengeance Racing and it was the Grumpy Jenkins tribute car:

None-the-less, again..................definitely a very cool car though.

I love that car. Seems like they have been trying to sell it for the last 10 years almost. It's an insane car that just can't seem to find a buyer.

Thanks for the positive comments guys.

It is a very special Camaro. It is NOT one of the numbered 2002 GMMG ZL1 Camaros, it is a NicKey Super Camaro.

It was built to show case the vision of what the ultimate street 4th generation NicKey / Bill Thomas Camaro could be.

It did start life from GM as a 35th Anniversary SS.

It features a C5R Bill Thomas 427 with twin turbos and has dynoed at well over 1,000 hp to the rear wheels.

That was a bunch for a street car back then : )

It was the last Car Project that Bill Thomas was involved with before he passed. (R.I.P.).

It was a hand full to hook up a under 100mph, but from 100 to 150mph plus it pulled very strong.
