Default 416 Rebuild -- AutoTec Pistons

Has anyone used these? If so, results please. I hope so, as their part# 1000418 is going in my engine along with AT4075 rings.

See if you can guess what the piston/wall clearances were on this setup.
These were the old Diamond pistons. To give you a clue, the builder used a 0.004" clearance on the mains.

This is a scan of the side of my piston. The piston in the picture was one of the old pistons.

I use Autotec's quite a bit, very nice pieces for the money, looks like that piston had too much clearance, they only call for .003 clearance from Autotec.

the picture above is what 0.010, NOT 0.001, but 10 k looks like. You can see where it slapped the metal out of the piston and if you look closely at the ring end gaps, you can see the xcessive wear as the gaps were facing down.
The pistons called for 0.0055, they were almost double that number.

Wow, most Autotec's (4032) call for .003, most Racetec's (2618) call for .004 Do you have the sheet that says it takes .0055, that is surprising.

The piston in the picture above is a DIAMOND piston. Their 2618 stuff calls for 0.0055. The new (4032, #1000718s) did in fact indicate 0.003".

Also looks like sharp edge's at the bottom of the cylinder. If so, might want to sand a little radius.
