flywheel dowel pins question

Default flywheel dowel pins question

i have a brand new hayes flywheel and it came with some dowel pins and i have no idea what they do or if i need them im prolly going to put them in because my old flywheel had them buy i would like to know what they do and if i just tap them in or what.

with my monster clutch, they were there to aid in aligning the pressure plate. they served no other purpose. I left them out, but i called monster and they said if you plan on using them, just tap them in. If the flywheel is already installed in the car, tapping them in will be RIDICULOUSLY loud, hammering then having it echo, which is why mine did not make it in.

ahh i see i just went ahead and hammered mine in to be safe, guess ill see when i put my pressure plate on.
