Default What the longest its taken you to bleed a clutch?

Just curious to how long you have spent bleeding a clutch. I did a bunch of work to my car over the winter and I installed a Tick remote bleeder at the same time. The hydro's work great but I got a bunch of air into the system now the pedal goes to the floor and I have to pick it up manually to bleed it. Took about 30 minutes to feel some progress, but it stil sticks to the floor. Im thinking its going to take an hour or two to get this done so I can drive it. Thank goodness for the remote bleeder!

So whats the longest you have spent bleeding a clutch?

The only time it should take you 30 minutes is if you're dealing with a bad or defective master cylinder.

See the JMD method:

I honestly think it got that much air into it. Everything worked fine when I pulled it apart over winter. I didnt bleed it for 30 min straight, that includes getting up and refilling the cup and what not. I only bleed about 3 resevors. Still had some dirty fluid from last year in fact

Crack your bleaer loose until fluid is comin out. Then start to blead, it shouldnt take 30 minutes.

If you filled the res. 3 times I'd say its the master

Ill try that tomorrow. I dont think it would go bad over winter. I thought I had it hook up, pushed in the clutch and it was hard as a rock. I forgot to plug it in. Plugged it in, and it went to the floor. Im hopoing it just got a bunch of air into it when I installed the tick remote bleeder

Never know, **** happens. Car is 10(+,-) years old haha Im in the same boat. I removed my master and im gonna be putin the new one in this week. Along with the oil pump.

Should bleed within 5 attempts. Hopefully it is air and you can get it out. Master isnt too much work if it comes down to that tho.

Post up and keep us updated

mine was bleeding very little too. I think my problem was my hose. The brass end messed up and I tried to fix it. I blew an o-ring out of the end and shoved it back in. Gave it a shot and I gained pressure from releasing the clutch while the bleeder was open. lol So i ripped the master out.

Found out the problem. I forgot to install the crush washer between the slave and the bleeder. The stock bleeder doesnt have that and I didnt even think bout it. At least I can lower the t56 and slide it out and reach the slave without dropping it
