How bad would spool be for roadracing?

That would be a horrible idea. A spool locks both of your axles together. When you make a turn the inside wheel needs to spin slower then the outside wheel. Spools work great for straight line acceleration. Just daily driving with one is a pain as your turning radius becomes much larger.

it will be fine i have a 9'' moser in my ss full spool 390 gears only time i notice my spool is when i back up or when turning right or left other then that rides good gets the job done

For drag racing it works great .... straighter launch! For road racing, not so good. It would push the car to the outside of the curves because the outside tire WILL turn the same speed as the inside tire no matter what causing it to push (seriously understeer). If you break the tires loose, it will oversteer to a point where there will be no recovery especially with big tires.
