Default OEM CME catback?

What is it? I always thought they sounded real good and there is one for sale around here locally that I am thinking about scooping up. I don't think its a dual/dual and its def not an LM1 so what is it? Anyone running this setup with LT's and O/R Y?

There were two different Slp dual/dual mufflers made. There was the oem verson with the cone of silence in the tail pipe and added chamber in the muffler. Then there was the aftermarket "Powerflow" version. This had a 3inch inlet, no cone of silence and did not have the extra chamber so it was more strait through. This version was louder and more throaty.

From the outside they both mufflers look the same so they only was to tell is by looking inside the muffler.

Nice info. I'll have to go have a look to see if i have the ring of silence.

pir7tr in the muffler pics - is that showing the ring or is that something else that restricts flow?

I actually have a Powerflow version of the dual/dual I plan on putting on in place of my current corsa muffler. As soon as i get it installed i will update with pics and videos.

The red ss in that video from the link you posted sounds perfect, perfect tone and loudness almost vette like.

I believe it is the "extra" chamber the exhaust is forced through. Both pics (muffler 2)show the block off, one is closer the the inlet/outlet than the other pic which leads me to think it is the extra chamber.

The "ring of silence" is a circular ring that has a small dime to nickle size hole that allows the exhaust through. Neither one of my mufflers in the thread link had the cone of silence.

So what is a dual/dual worth? I have one from a 35th LE that I want to post up for sale. Just the catback itself, no pipes or tips. Here is a pic of what I have..

I thought the cone of silence was discontinued after 1997, or am I mistaken?

Yes it was, the cone of silence was used on the lt1 SS's. The ls1 SS's apperantly got a ring of silence on some year dual/duals. It is explained in the link pir7tr posted. ^

Shine a light into the muffler and snap a picture for us. I'd like to see for comparison against the pictures I had posted in the thread link I provided a few posts before.

This is the muffler i bought about three years ago from slp website, they were advertising it as the dual/dual muffer for f-body. When i got it home tho its only got a 2.5 inlet with two 2.5 outlets so i think i got screwed. anyways here are some pics of the inside of it.
