Default M6 to A4: Using a M6 harness with an A4 trans?

This isn't for my car.. Asking for someone else. When swapping a 98 M6 to a 98 A4, do you have to use a "new" wiring harness. Are pig tails available to make the A4 work with an M6 harness.

I know this has been discussed a lot, but I don't see much about using the M6 harness with an A4. I thought they made the pig tails to make it work, but I can't find them.

It all depends on how you are going to control the A4 transmission. After market controller or factory? Aftermarket transmission controllers require Throttle Position and RPM to function.

I think someone sells just the trans portion of the harness IIRC. Seems to me its around $75. If you found one, you would have to pin it into the computer connections at the PCM.

You will have to install the control portion from the PCM, and the pedal switch for the TCC. The plug on the shifter in these cars is for the Rev Lights, and N/S Switch.

I'm lookin into goin auto in my MCSS, I'll have to install the control wiring, not really worried about the rev lights, the Clutch Pedal will be the N/S still..

Where/what is that pigtail harness? I know it mentions buying it for "too much money" at the dealer, but I wouldn't know what part to ask for.
