Default about to perform my first engine swap, anything i should do while the engines out?

about to perform my first engine swap(LQ4/4L80E), are there any minor mods that would help performance/reliability that would be easier to do while the engine is still outside of the engine bay?

so far i was thinking just plugs lol - but i remembered that some 03-04 cobra guys tap the back of their blocks while they have there engines out to do reroute coolant from the front.

i was just wondering if there was anything like for us LS guys? or basically just anything i would want to slap myself for not doing while the engine was out.

thanks

if you don't have any real mods planned, just swap it.

not knowing the history of the engine, i'd install a new oil pump, timing chain, and valvesprings at the least.

thanks everyone - im planning on prepping the engine bay (specially getting my firewall looking a little better) and shooting it all satin black before the swap.

sounds ill be doing the oil pump, plugs, and timing chain. also will be throwing in a new master cylinder/lines also while im at it.

thanks again.
