pros and cons of a 2009 6.2 denalli motor
im going to put g6x3 cam in it and a carb'd intake and put it in my mustang and want to know some details on the motor(weight, compression etc)...just curious if its a flat top piston motor or dished and anybody run one of these motors what their thoughts are of it....whats the factory power rating...is it variable valve timing?...any info will be appreciated....thanks billy

FT pistons IIRC. VVT=yes. You might want to change the intake valves for some LS3 hollow stem valves.

Do it man! No cons other that those already mentioned. It probably wouldn't hurt to swap to the hollow intake valve for some weight savings.
You will have to swap out the VVT timing cover, DOD valley cover and DOD lifters.
- Flat top pistons,
- 10.5 compression ratio
- 403 hp / 417 tq (graph): http://archives.media.gm.com/us/powe...a%20Denali.pdf
That LG G6X3 should work great.
- Last specs I saw for that cam was 235/245 @ .050, 642/608, 111 LSA
You will have to notch the stock pistons for valve clearance with that cam.

I have a 09 Sierra Denali with 6.2L and it does not have the VVT , mine does not go into 4 cylinder mode, I was told were mine is all wheel drive, with the tow package it would not have the VVT, The engine is a 6.2L with 403 HP - 6 speed auto.
I have a new 6.2L block and had it bored to 4.090" and starting to build a 431cid. Finally got everything to build it,but need to get it balanced first.
When I start my build, im going to use the stock 6.2 valley cover with the o rings thay covers the ports, and drill and tap the ports for the DOD. and use a LS2 timing cover the has only the cam sensor. The rear covers are all the same.
